Just take it in for a moment. That’s the Mini John Cooper Works you’re staring at, all 208bhp of it. Mini will unveil this steroidal version of the already beefy Cooper S at Geneva 2008 before opening the books in July, so get saving.
The Mini JCW extracts an extra 33bhp over the standard Cooper S by dumping the regular turbocharger and strapping on a bigger, twin-scroll unit.
Perhaps feeling the pressure from other luxury automakers and the debut of a number of special edition executive sedans, Audi has announced a limited run of 50 examples of its 6.3-liter 500-hp W12-engined A8L flagship. Dubbed the A8 Audi exclusive concept, the long-wheelbase executive yacht will feature a leather interior from Italian designer furniture maker Poltrona Frau. The A8 Audi exclusive concept will feature aniline leather in the color of Agatha Cognac, which is said to be very soft, and the center sections of the seats will have diamond quilting.

Volkswagen Tiguan: the lowdown
Volkswagen is going Freelander hunting with its new Golf-based Tiguan off-roader. Unveiled at the Los Angeles Motorshow this morning, Concept Tiguan gives a nine-tenths preview of what the production-ready Tiguan will look like when it arrives here in January 2008. It will initially arrive with a choice of front or all-wheel-drive, four engines – two petrol and two advanced ‘Clean TDI’ diesel units – and six-speed manual or DSG transmission.
